As a church, we encourage each member to serve on at least one team. There are a number of teams to play your part on and own the vision. Below are some links to the various teams that you might like to consider. Teams serve on a rota system and are trained and supported by a team leader. If you are able to serve even just once a month, than why not join one of the teams below and serve the body in a practical way.

Due to the fact that we are not yet in our own building and are meeting in a school hall, we need to setup and pack away on a weekly basis. This is done by our wonderful setup teams who volunteer their services on a weekly basis. The setup team on duty on any given Sunday will arrive at the school hall by 8am and setup the hall. The teams consists of those responsible for setting up the chairs, information board, tea tables, GateWay room and the OXCI sign boards along with a member of the sound team who will setup the sound and media equipment. The worship team have a practice and sound check at 9am while the setup team add the finishing touches to the setup.
If you are able to give a Sunday morning a month, than why not join one of the setup teams and serve the body in a practical way. Simply click on the following link and your name will be added to a team and a rota will be emailed back to you with your weekends highlighted. Please add me to a Setup team. |

Sound & Media is a very important part of a Sunday morning service and the sound person is required to have a good ear for music and sound along with a preparedness to worship by balancing the sound throughout the service. Being a part of the sound & media team also means serving on a setup team as the sound equipments needs to be setup on a Sunday morning and balanced for the worship team when they practice at 9am on a Sunday morning. The sound person on duty along with the setup person will be at the hall by 8:30am. The sound person is responsible for setting up the sound equipment and media equipment. Please add me to a Sound team.

Hospitality involves making a Sunday morning as enjoyable an experience as possible for all who attend or visit OXCI, members and visitors alike. Although we meet in a school hall there is no need for Sundays to be a uncomfortable experience, thus the hospitality teams are responsible for making the loo's as inviting as school loo's can be and for ensuring there is hot tea and coffee available after the service. Fellowship after the service is as important to us as the service itself, this is where we continue to build community and support each other. Please add me to a Hospitality team.

Our visitors are very important to us and as such we want not only to make their visit enjoyable but help them find community and a place to belong. Finding yourself in a new church can often be a daunting experience and leave you with a sense of being left out, at OXCI we don't ever want this to be the case. Our shepherding teams are trained to welcome, accommodate and answer any questions a visitor may have. This may seam very organisational and clinical however that is not the heart, at the heart of this ministry is the desire to see our visitors connected in community to a local church. This may not even be our church but another, we believe in local church and as such want to help every one who visits us realize the importance of this for their growth and fruitfulness in the kingdom. We want to walk people from a place of simply visiting to being a fully committed functional member of the local church. Please add me to a Shepherding team.

We have a great team working together to help and guide our children, helping them to get to grips with their own walk with God and grow to become committed adults who are willing and able to follow God.
It is our desire to see Gateway become a way into our community and we trust to see lives changed through the children.
We have a number of teams working on Sundays, these teams are made up of men and ladies who are committed to making a difference in children's lives. This is done through fun and exciting activities and games to series bible study. The teams aim is to help mum and dad by starting dialog with their children, after all it is their responsibility to train up their children. All of our volunteers are CRB checked and supported through training and encouragement on a regular basis. Please add me to a GateWay team.
